Boston Celtics: Jayson Tatum Shuts Down Draymond Green’s Sneaky Attempt to Coax Controversial Take
David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

Boston Celtics star forward Jayson Tatum did not let Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green make him say something that could have been easily taken out of context following the Celtics’ series-clinching 113-98 win at home over the Cleveland Cavaliers Wednesday night.

Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum Sidesteps Draymond Green

During a postgame interview on NBA on TNT, Tatum was asked by Green about how the Celtics view the potential matchup against Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals and versus Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets or Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals.

Green was also seemingly interested to know how the Celtics would continue with Al Horford on the floor despite being a potential target on pick-and-rolls.

However, Tatum managed to elude the loaded question.

“First of all, we don’t know who we’re playing, so you’re not going to get me with that,” the former Duke Blue Devils star said. “We’re going to take it one series at a time, we’re not looking past nobody. This defense is a collective effort, we got to be on the same page. We trust everybody out there, whoever’s on the floor. We play team defense, and then we always talk about individual defense and your pride. We trust everybody, even Al [Horford], especially Al, to take that pride in knowing that you got four guys behind you helping.”

Tatum and Horford were a huge part of the Celtics’ success in Game 5 against the Cavs, as they scored 25 and 22 points, respectively.

Regardless of who their next opponent will be in the Eastern Conference Finals, the Celtics are likely going to be the favorite in that matchup, as they are the top seed in the East and have the home-court advantage.
